While Botulinum Toxin (BTX) can be utilised for most areas of the face and neck for the treatment of lines and wrinkles, a prerequisite to any successful non-surgical facial aesthetic treatment is a sound knowledge and appreciation of the full spectrum of treatment options currently available (Table 1).

BTX versus dermal fillers

To clarify an often confused subject, it is generally considered more appropriate to employ BTX for the upper third of the face, in the first instance, for the treatment of forehead and frown lines as well as for crows feet (see Figures 1-4).This is due to
chemo-denervation of the underlying, or more correctly, responsible muscles
